Best Gallery show I've EVER seen.
So call me biased.. I only had one piece of work in the show and it was my minicomic, which was a part of the boxed set shown above.
But I was blown away by the presentation and the other artists, as well as how MANY talented artists participated in this festival.
The featured artist of this show was the perversely talented Ken Avidor

His work had its very own room. He even had work in a loft that one has to climb a wooden ladder to view. It was a nice little hideaway for some of his more explicit images.

In case you can't tell, the bottom right-most image is a cartoon representation of Bush Sr. getting backboned by Gorbachev.

The shadows cast by these little critters were kinda creepy. Now I see where they got the idea for the Offical Lutefisk Sushi Website

I really liked Ken's "Bicyclopolis" set... it was definitely a nice nod to the boehme bike gangs around here.

Back out to the main room.
I didn't manage to get photos of it, but one of the artists' work was set up as his own separate offshoot, in a small bathroom. At this point, Kat and I were waiting for the person who was last using the bathroom to finish so that we could look at the art.

So in the meantime, I got snapshots of some of the other art in that very corner of the room.

I wonder if they knew that they were wearing complementary-coloured shoes. It seemed as though they had clandestine plans to meet secretly and face back to back as I get a chance to take a snapshot.

Caylie (
POLSKA, sucka!
Rice, MN's own, VAS.

Thank you Vas, for the little dance number.
*applause*

We spent most of our time at that gallery at the reading booth. I wanted to save my excitement in reading them for when I get my very own boxed set at the next comic book jam, but I couldn't contain myself.
Besides, it was nice to see the art from the comic books in larger formats along the walls of the gallery.
My favourite was Sean Tenhoff's "Beanman" (featuring Steven Stwalley's "Soapy the Chicken"). I wish I had that for my wall.

The comics were all pretty "L-O-L" material. But luckily, it seemed like a very "L-O-L" atmosphere, so I didn't feel out of place laughing at comic books with Kat.
And I'll end this post with something to ponder...

What the hell is that girl doing on the left of this photo?!

I've got high hopes and low expectations for my comic, at least. I have hopes that we'll kick some ass at the jam war... ;) but I have expectations that it'll at least be a kick ass time. Also, I have hopes to finish one or two more mini-comics before the end of summer, but I expect that at least one will reach completion.
I hope it's good smelling poo. Your ass will smell like a rose.

So you were at the show? What's your name?

I was there early on, took off fairly early though. Between having this thing where I freak out when I m in overly crowded areas and having to pick up the baby from the sitters I wasnt able to stay long. you actually have a picture of my art on the wall.

I usually post friends-only, so thanks for letting me know.

Minneapolis, eh? How's that working out? I skimmed a post of yours that simply RAVED about it. All I can do is simply rave about Seattle. I'm blissfully in my little northwest bubble. Perhaps a Kerouac-style freight hopping trip is in order.
If only.
Thanks for adding me. =)

I've got some plans to take my first trip out to Seattle sometime this summer. However, freight hopping sounds loads more beatiffic.
Keep the spirit alive.

But really, there was neither lutefisk nor sushi at the gallery opening. It was just a bunch of comic books and illustrations.
